I just wanted to pass on that Janet Ferguson -- the manager of our local Publix contacted me today in regards to my request for a Coupon policy from Corporate
I told her the only reason I had not contacted her with the problems Lauren encountered last week was because the girl Lauren spoke with left the impression she was the manager. Lauren asked to speak to the manager and the cashier called this girl over.
Janet said unfortunately the information she had was incorrect
They do accept a store coupon and a manufacturers coupon
She said the only limitation they have on coupons is like in the Green advantage or the yellow advantage flier sometimes they will limit those to 1 per customer but they can be stacked with a manufacturers coupon
I was concerned because the girl that talked to mom and Lauren said they were no longer being reimbursed from the manufacturers for the coupons the customers were using. This did have me concerned because if they were not getting reimbursed then in the long run it was going to hurt Publix and then fall back on us in higher prices.
She said the girl that talked to Lauren was totally wrong on this account. She said they are being reimbursed
She said even their BOGO sales they have that the manufacturers are giving them discounts (not covering all of it -- but offering incentives) for them to run those sales and the majority of the time it will coincide with the coupons inserts.
The Rachael Ray Dog food this week is a perfect example. They are running a BOGO sale and then there were awesome coupons in the inserts this week.
So, the good news is the cashiers just had incorrect information.
I let her know I was in no way trying to get anyone in trouble, but couponing was a lot of work and I didn't want to keep putting lists together only to find out they would not honor them.
So -- she told me if we are ever in the store and run into any issues -- please ask for her -- Janet Ferguson -- she was very nice and helpful.
She also said they have been told the Corporate is in the process of writing up a coupon policy and hopefully she can keep her cashiers more informed when that gets published.
