Cereal Sale at Publix Info post

I got this email in from Bon this morning who discovered this and wanted to share it with the rest of you. I have noticed this about sales as well. Where they will increase the prices for the BOGO sales or decrease the product size when they have a mark down on something

Hi tam,

The General Mills Cereal deal that was on sale all week at Publix and ends today (I know the ad ends today, but I didn't get my shopping completed until last night and felt it was info that might be useful for the future cereal sales) was a switch out of the original box of cereal.

The ad sign covers the original price tab for cereal that come in boxes of 12.8 oz at $3.69, but the sale boxes are only 8 oz (not the original 12.8 oz)! The sale boxes are the same height as the original boxes of cereal that are usually in that spot, but the sale boxes are thinner and carry about 38% less cereal.

If the original price for a 12.8 oz box is $3.69; or $.29 per oz (and you subtract 38% from the cereal and 38% from the cost) the actual cost for that sale cereal would come to about $2.24. Hence, the sale price of $1.99 for cereal is actually a sale of only ABOUT $.25 cents off per box.

Just wanted you to know!

THANKS BON!!!!
