Ok, this is a different type of post than I normally get into.  I will warn you right off the bat it is a bit on the gross side - even for the ladies.  As my title states this post is "Just for the ladies" -- Guys if you are reading this you can exit now.......
 

I have always been more on the "private side" when it comes to this subject so if I wasn't so concerned about the subject to help others I would just keep it to myself and my family.

Isn't it funny how the brain works when someone tells you "you can't read something" all the sudden you want to stay for the entire thing even if you have normally only ready 2 lines of every other post on this blog because they are boring - LOL!!!

I was contacted a couple weeks ago from Tiger Elite to try their product The Diamond Cup.  I was initially a bit turned off, but after doing some extensive research I decided to give it a try.

I guess I have long been aware of the chemicals that are in feminine products, but have never thought about them seeping into the pores of the skin and into our bodies and thus contaminating us with chemicals we would not want to have any part of.

I have family members that have had allergic reactions to pads for a long time.  Because of their allergies to these products they have never even attempted tampons.  Between that and the TSS issue I have never liked to use them, but have when necessary.

The product I was sent was a reusable menstrual cup.  I had attempted one of these years and years ago and it was a no go!!  I don't even remember the brand, but it is was extremely uncomfortable and annoying and I had to immediately remove it.

This cup after boiling and sanitizing was soft and I didn't even notice it after the initial insertion which I will admit has an extreme learning curve to it which I don't think I have mastered yet.  They have 2 different sizes.  One size is for women who have had children and one is for women who have not.  They are made of medical grade German engineered silicone.

 I used the C fold, but there are a couple other folds I have found out about since using it that I am going to attempt next time to see if it might be easier.

I was actually truly surprised using this.  Once inserted (you do not insert these as far as you do a tampon) I didn't even feel it!!  I experienced no leakage whatsoever which actually really surprised me.

Even through the night -- no leaks!!  The first couple of days during the day I emptied way more often than I would have even had to - just because I was not familiar with them and was basing it on how often I normally had to change a tampon.  So, that in itself made it more uncomfortable then it would have had to be since the worse part is the insertion - LOL!!  Also want to mention that I usually had some leakage with my tampons and always had to use a liner with them as well and they (tampons) in my opinion are very very uncomfortable.

Back to me and my opinion

Once you get past the ooh gross part of having to rinse it out every few hours - it actually eliminates the grossness of having pads in the trash can.

They state that you can wear it for up to 12 hours.  I have not gone this long yet, but did wear it about 8 hours overnight.  Worked great and there was no odor when cleaning and rinsing the cup!  I did find that for me it was easiest to insert it when I was in the shower.  Of course this will not always be an option, but for the most part this works out good.

So, after doing research on this, tampons and disposable sanitary products it has got me on a new line of work producing my own washable sanitary napkins and panty liners as well which I will blog about once I get the pattern mastered that I like.

Anyway -- sorry if this subject grossed all you ladies out and if there are still men in the room -- well you are just a gluton for punishment and seriously need to think about your state of mind for reading through all this!!

Adeline Antioxidant Serum Review -- #adelineantioxidants

I will have several things to share with you today so stay tuned!!

First off I have been trying out yet another product from the Adeline collection.  See my older blog posts for reviews on some of their other products.

This one is the Adeline Antioxidant Serum 20% Vitamin C.  It comes in a 1 oz pump bottle.  Suggested use is to apply to skin once or twice daily.  The main thing I noticed with this is I needed to be careful and not overdo it or it wanted to start flaking off.

It feels very good going on to the skin and I really liked it as long as I didn't use too much.  So that is my main suggestion is a little goes a long way.  1 pump didn't feel like quite enough, but 2 pumps was too much for my face so I took it on down my neck and that seemed to work good.  It does cause a slight tightening feel to the skin -- at least it did with mine.

The consistency is a bit thinner as you can see in the photo.  Not too runny, but you do need to be careful when dispensing and not get it to close to the edge of your finger or it might run down the edge.  You can see it running in on my hand in the photo below.  This was just one pump.

Kuuk Silicone Oven Mitts, Pair Review #SiliconeOvenMitts

Today I am bringing you a bit of awesomeness!!!  I am absolutely loving these.  If any of you multi task while you are baking then these babies are for you!!  I don't know how many times I have grabbed an oven mitt that was too small for the job at hand.  I think these will handle anything.  They are big, but the silicone is soft enough that I didn't have any issues hanging on to the pans.  They also came with a hot pad to put under your pans.

They are silicone on the outside and quilted on the inside.

I definitely felt like my hands were safe while using these.  They had them available in 2 colors.  Lime Green and Gray.  I chose the lime green because they looked fun.  No, they don't match my kitchen, but I will have no issues finding them and as soon as Rox seen them she wanted them!!  She loves lime green :)

I have been using it about 2.5 weeks and a few nights forgot to use it, so don't expect dramatic results!!
It is hard to tell anything from the photos, but I went ahead and included them anyway.  

I can definitely see a lot of results though and I should have taken the first photo with eyes open because I think you would have been able to see the gaps between the eyelashes better.  There was serious noticable gaps.  The only way to cover them up was to use eye liner and it would make it not quite so noticable.

I have no makeup on in either picture (which is obvious), and the gaps are filling in.

A couple of nights when I put this on I got it a little too close to my eyes and got some in my eyes.  I had a moment of panic, but it didn't burn or sting though.

So I am liking this and would recommend it for anyone that has done hateful things to their eyelashes like using artificial ones and causing stress and damage to the lashes.

This work good with the girls paper flowers they make to stiffen up any areas in the stem that need to have a bit more structure to them.  Works good for the bridal bouquets which require a bit more stiffness to the handle.

They measure 4" long, they are flat on one end and pointed on the other.

They seemed to be very well made and were free of splinters.

They are painted green and there is some of them that the green tends to come off on your hands a bit when working with them, but not horrible.  I tend to wrap all of the stems with floral tape anyway so has not been a problem for us.


I can think of a lot of things these would be useful for!!  Garden stake markers, decorator pics - make up a design glue to the ends and place them in your plants around your house.  I can picture a little lady bug on the end of one.  Your imagination is the limit!!

You would think with all of the things I have been trying lately that I am having a midlife crisis!!  I am definitely not - LOL, but when companies are offering me really good products to try I am not going to say no!!

Lalune Naturals Lemon Oil review ~ #lalunenaturals

I love Essential Oils.  I have always used Now brand essential oils and to be honest had never branched out because I liked what I was using.

However, when given the opportunity to try some others I was excited.  I use essential oils to freshen up the house and also to clean.  I love lemon for cleaning.

This is 100% pure Lemon Essential Oil.  Therapeutic grade (which I think means don't drink it - LOL), 100% Cold pressed oil, no additives.

This comes in an amber glass bottle with a glass eye dropper.

The scent is not overpowering -- so if you do not like a real strong scent this is definitely for you.  I prefer mine a bit stronger.  This did work well when I used it for scrubbing down the kitchen.  I mixed an eye dropper full in a small pan of water with a couple drops of Dawn and went at it.  It worked well.  I didn't use any gloves when cleaning with it.  I had no issues.
