Target Overcharge update!!

I wanted to let you all know that Target has contacted me back in regards to multiple charges on my account.

I just received this email from them and it looks like they are going to take care of everything

It looks like you didn’t receive the promotional discount that should’ve been applied to your Target.com order. I’m sorry about the mistake and confusion about the multiple authorization requests.
  
To clear this up, I’m refunding $32.50, the amount of the promotional discount, back to your card. You’ll see the refund on your account within 7-10 business days.

And for the double charge and other $31.73 unauthorized charge those are actually just authorization pending charges. Authorizations are simple hold requests on guest's form of payment by the time you place the order; they aren't permanent charges. We don't charge your card until we're ready to ship your order. With our current process, credit cards are authorized for full order amount and actual charges posted to form of payment. When one item ships, Target reverses the first authorization and then issues another for the remaining balance of the order just like for the other $31.73 charge. As I can see that four of the items are separately shipped last 25th and the other remaining four last 26th. May result in various amounts totaling full order amount as charges on form of payment.

Most authorizations will expire and be removed automatically when order has been shipped and actual charge is posted in 24-48 hours. Please contact your bank to see if they're able to reverse the authorization pending charges if you already need the credits. I'm very sorry for your experience and I'm documenting your feedback and will raise it to our operations department.
